The Juliet Club

The Juliet Club by Suzanne Harper

Kate Sanderson inherited her good sense from her mother, a disciplined law professer, and her admiration for Bard from her father, a passionate Shakespeare scholar.

But when she got dumped, for "practically perfect" Ashley Lawson, and she promised herself to never fall in love again.

Then she was accepted to a summer Shakespeare symposium in Verona, Italy, Kate sees that this is the perfect way to get over her heartbreak finally. She'll lose herself in the sights, literature, and all the pasta and gelato.

But can even logical Kate resit the urge for romance in the beautiful villa in the city where star-crossed lovers Romeo and Juliet met and died for each other? Especially when one of the Shakespeare scholars----particularly Giacomo, with his tousled brown hair, expressive brown eyes, and charming ways, break her protective shell?

I liked this book, but I didn't like the ending that much, it just kind of left you off, instead of telling you what happens, it's intresting how Silvia and Benno played the prank on Kate and Giacomo, and it actually worked. I always wanted to go to Italy, especially to see all the sights and eat pasta and gelato, they both sound really good :).

I agree - I read this book at the beginning of the school year and found it sort of boring. If the ending had been really AWESOME, it would have made up for the just OK parts of the rest. Like you, I also liked the descriptions of Italy.
