i liked this book better than the first book (Cirque Du Freak: A living nightmare), is was slightly more "bloody and gory" but not by much, i liked this book, not really horror much, but it was still good. Hmm, i wonder why did Darren Shan(the author) used his own name instead of some made up name...

Darren Shan is any regular school boy, he likes to bike and play with his 3 best friends, except he has a crazy obsession of spiders. But then he and his friends come across a mysterious invitation for a freak show called "Cirque Du Freak". Then the boys can only buy 2 tickets, and as if destiny, Darren gets one of the two tickets, and what follows is the horrible plunge into the world of vampires.

This is Darren's story.

I liked this book, well all the vampire books are usually for the "vampire book club" i'm in, so far this is my favorite of all the books (Into The Forest Of The Night, Demon In My View) this is more bloody-gorey type of vampire book, then the romance-vampire books like Twilight, Vampire Kisses, or Into The Forest Of The Night.
