The Viper's Nest by Peter Lerangis

The Hunt for the 39 clues that lead to an unimaginable power has taken a heavy toll on Amy and her younger brother Dan. They have just seen a woman die. They are now wanted by the Indonesian police. They are trapped on an island with a man they thought they could trust and knows too much about the death of their parents while a tropical storm is rolling in. Just when things couldn't seem to get any worse, it obviously does. The Cahills have one more rattling secret for Amy and Dan to discover, and that is the terrible truth about their family branch.

The thrilling 7th book of the 39 clues series. I honestly do like the 39 clues series because it's thrilling and exciting, even though it is written for kids, not teens. I especially liked this book because since the 6th book, In Too Deep, left with a cliffhanger, this book picked up right where it left off, answering all my, well most of, my questions. I highly do recommend this series. Peter Lerangis is a very good author.

Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater

Grace has always had a strange relationship with wolves, ever since she has been attacked by a pack of wolves when she was a child. They scare, but fascinate her at the same time, but there is one that particularly draws her interest; the yellow eye wolf.

Sam is the boy with a dark secret. In the summer, he is just like any other boy with a mess of black hair and a love of reading. But in the winter, he turns into a black wolf with golden eyes that lives in the forest near Grace's Minnesotan house. He is constantly struggling with his sense to stay with his pack and his fight for being human.

After an incident when Sam almost dies, he drags himself to Grace's house, begging for help. She helps him and they soon fall in love, finding the real love they both desired.

But time is going to be cut short. Each year Sam's time as human becomes shorter and shorter. Sam is afraid of losing his sense of humanity and himself. This year is Sam's last year as a human, and unless Grace can find some way to stop his change, she will lose him...forever.

I loved this book beyond compare. This is one of the best supernatural romances I've ever read, and trust me, I've read a ton of supernatural romances. I really liked the cast of characters. Grace was easy to connect to and Sam was really sweet. All the characters in general seemed real (well, as real as werewolves can be) and easy to relate too. I also like how this book takes place in Minnesota, it adds a homey feel to it. It's not often that a very popular book is placed in Minnesota.

Oh dear...

I have not been able to upload posts recently because I've been awfully busy with school...the last post was last year August, back before school started...so right now, I'm gonna post a list of books here that I'm gonna blog about and keep an eye out for them. I hope to finish blogging all these before I start another book... These books are from wayy back from August 2010.

My goal for 2011 is to actually blog and NOT PROCRASTINATE! C:

Also...I have to look for my missing page. I remember reading some books, but they are not written down, like VIP Lounge by Ed Decter and stuff like that.

Tempted by P.C. Cast and Kristen Cast

So...after you:

-banished an immortal being and a fallen priestess

-saved Stark's life

-biting Heath

-being seriously annoyed with Erik

-almost died

Zoey thought she could finally be given a break. But a break is not in the plans of the House of Night for Zoey, the high priestess in training and her friends. Juggling three guys is far from a stress reliever too; especially if one of them is a warrior, sworn to protect her and can sense her feelings. And now, a nameless evil is spreading through the tunnels of Tulsa ... and Zoey has a feeling that Stevie Rae and her group of red fledging misfits are responsible for a lot more than they are telling. Aphrodite's visions warn Zoey about Kalona and his evil, but even Zoey doesn't have the power to ward of an immortal being. Soon it's obvious. Zoey has to stop Kalona or else he will hurt the ones she love, will Zoey have the courage to risk her life, soul and love?

... That's all I have to say.

Boys R Us by Lisi Harrison

"Massie Block: After disbanding the Pretty Committee, Massie takes charge like Visa, forming OCD's hawtest clique yet: Massie And Crew. Even though money can't buy love, it can buy new friends . . . or at least model-actresses who will act like your besties until you get real ones. Lights, camera, MACtion!

Alicia Rivera: Hearts her new role as alpha of the Soul-M8s, BOCD's first ever boy-girl clique. But when the boys head back to the newly renovated Briarwood Academy, will the remaining Soul-M8s become 4Squares?

Dylan Marvil: Is happy times ten to finally have a crush who's crushing back, especially since they luh-v all the same things: marshmallows, lip-kissing, and chugging Red Bull. Buuuuuuuuurrrrrrrp!

Kristen Gregory: Scored three goals on the soccer field last week-and Massie's crush . . . which earned her an ejection from her ex-BFF's heart. Can Massie forgive and forget, or is Kristen out of the game forever?

Claire Lyons: Has declared herself neutral in the battle of the cliques. But dividing her time among Massie, the Soul-M8s, and Cam has left her stretched thinner than extra-small Spanx. Can she get her friends to reunite, or will she be forced to pick a side once and for all?"

You know what, I'm not even gonna bother commenting on this book. It's gonna be the same as the other comments. I'm just happy they get back together, if not, the books were getting annoying. It's already the 11th book...I'm happy they announced the 2nd to last book "My Little Phony".

Pretties by Scott Westerfield

Tally has everything she has ever wanted. She's pretty now, her life is beyond awesome.

But behind all the fun -the non-stop parties, the high tech luxury, the freedom, the feeling of being bubbly - there's a nagging sense of something is wrong. Something important.

Then a message from her ugly past came. Reading it, she finally remembers what's wrong with her pretty life and her fun stops cold.

Now she has to decide, should she fight to forget what she knows or should she fight for her life - because the authorities don't intend on letting anyone know this information survive.
I loved this book! At first I was a bit confused...like why was she pretty and stuff? But then I got it.

Notes from the Midnight Driver by Jordan Sonneblick

"16-year-old Alex decides to get even. His parents are separated, his father is dating his former third-grade teacher, and being 16 isn't easy, especially when it comes to girls. Instead of revenge though, Alex ends up in trouble with the law and is ordered to do community service at a senior center where he is assigned to Solomon Lewis, a 'difficult' senior with a lot of gusto, advice for Alex, and a puzzling (yet colorful) Yiddish vocabulary. Eventually, the pair learn to deal with their past and each other in ways that are humorous, entertaining, and life changing."

Gosh, to think at first I wouldn't like this book, but of course, Jordan Sonneblick is an amazing writer with a great sense of humor! I found myself laughing as I read this book!

Alphas by Lisi Harrison

Thousands of girls applied. Only one hundred got in. Only one will win.

The multi-billionare Shira Brazille founded the super-exclusive Alpha Academy to nurture the next generation of exceptional dancers, writers, musicians and inventors. It's a dream come true for a lucky one hundred girls, but those not meeting the expectations will be sent home ... for any reason. The one left standing will win worldwide fame. Who will it be?

Skye Hamilton: known as an amazing dancer and being able to make superfast connection with boys (she's not the head of the DSL Daters for nothing), Skye plans to take Alphas by storm - and not to mention getting all five of Shira's super hot sons.

Allie A. Abbott: Getting over a break up with her boyfriend, she is only a little away from stardom. So when Allie J. Abbott's invitation to Alphas come to her doorstep, what else could she do then commit identity theft? But can she keep up with this act? Or will she get caught and sent home?

Charlie Deery: Charlie has always been a beta, but when she is offered a last-minute place in Alphas, who could say no? But the admission comes with a price: dumping her boyfriend - Darwin, Shira's son. It's hard to claw her way up, especially when ninety nine other girls are waiting to sink their claws into her ex.

I definetly like this a whole lot better than 'The Clique'. My favorite character was definetly Charlie because she was the most down-to-earth and sweet compared to the other bratty and mean girls. Also I know who I hate in this book. Allie and well, just Allie. You'd see why if you read this book. :)

Uglies by Scott Westerfield

Tally is excited to turn sixteen --- and no, not for her license but for finally being able to turn pretty. In Tally's world, turning sixteen brings an operation that turns you from a repellent ugly to a bubbly pretty and being able to party day and night in a stunning high tech paradise. And finally, in a few weeks, Tally will be there.

But Tally's new friend, Shay, isn't all that sure she wants to be pretty. Shay would rather be on the outside, and when Shay runs away, Tally learns about a whole new side about being pretty --- and it isn't that pretty. The authorities offer Tally a choice that will change her life. Either find her friend or never turn pretty. Ever. The choice Tally chooses just might change her life forever.

I actually tried reading this in 5th grade, but it didn't interest me. But now as I read it again, it was definitely an amazing science fiction. The idea is completely original and the story was suspenseful and thrilling. I highly recommend this book.

Daniel X : Watch the Skies by James Patterson

Daniel has thought he has seen it all in his alien hunting days.

But there's no business like show business and #5 on his list is the most appalling criminal yet.

An intergalactic reality t.v. show creator, he's executed millions --with a sound track and a laugh track to go with it.

Now, who would be better, than none other than the famed alien hunter as the star of his next film?

I don't really like where this series is going...I think it's a bit repetitive. 1) Daniel finds a new alien to hunt, 2) He battles it with lots of hard work, 3) He wins, 4) He discovers something cool/new about himself and his past. The end. But I guess the book was good.

Devil's Kiss by Sarwat Chadda

As the youngest and only female member of the Knight's Templar, Bilqis SanGreal (Billi) grew up knowing one thing. She wasn't normal. Instead of going to the mall or going on dates, Billi spends her time training to become a warrior to defend against the Unholy.

Billi's life is blasted apart when her childhood friend, Kay, returns from Jerusalem, gorgeous and dangerous. He's ready to slide back into Billi's life, but Billi has met someone new, the amber eyed Mike, who seems to know her like no one else and claimed her heart.

But the Templar is called into battle before Billi has time to enjoy this great twist in her life. One of the Templar's ancient sworn enemies have risen, searching for a treasure hidden andn protected by the Templar for years.

To save millions, Billi must put her heart aside and make sacrifices she has never imagined.

One of the most thrilling and suspenseful books I've ever read. Literally. I couldn't tell what was going to happen, until it happened! The ending was a definite twist and was incredibly bittersweet. She made the biggest sacrifice of all at the end. This book is a must read!

The A-List by Zoey Dean

"Seventeen-year-old Upper East Side blueblood Anna Percy is on her way to Beverly Hills, California, where she'll live with her estranged dad for the rest of the school year while her mother travels to Europe with a friend. On the plane, Anna drinks too much champagne and gets hit on by record producer Rick Resnick. Luckily Princeton student Ben Birnbaum is there to save her and he invites Anna to famous actor Jackson Sharpe's wedding, where Anna meets the cast of rich and famous characters who are soon to be her classmates at Beverly Hills High."

I loved this book, it reminded me a lot of the book "The One" by Ed Decter, but this was equally as good. This follows Anna, a goody two shoes with the want to escape and become "bad", it's very exciting and shows the "true" colours of L.A. without making it too cliched.

FANG by James Patterson

"Max and the Flock are flying high over Africa, but this time they're not alone. A sky full of cargo planes accompanies the team as they bring much-needed aid to the continent's poverty stricken regions. Among the volunteers is the mission's benefactor–the mysterious billionaire, Dr. Hans Gunther-Hagen. Max is intrigued by his generosity, but there's also something about him–and his intense scrutiny of the Flock–that makes her nervous.

But Dr. Hans isn't the only puzzling thing about their trip. The Flock also receives a cryptic message from a young girl, who tells them, 'The sky will fall.' Max and the Flock are ready to return home, still unable to make sense of her statement. But the surprises don't end with their departure, and something unbelievably momentous shakes up the Flock–pushing Max and Fang closer than ever. Will the team be able to stick together through the chaos?"

Uwaahhh Fang almost died in the end, and the end made me want to rip the book up! It was so ... crappy. Fang freaking left! And I also hate Dylan...a lot. I can't wait for the next Maximum Ride book!

Goddess of the Night by Lynne Ewing

Vanessa knows she's different, and she'll give anything to be normal -- but she can't stop herself from disappearing.

Catty, her best friend is different too, but Catty loves being different and traveling through time.

When the two girls meet two more girls -- Serena the mind reader and Jimena the oracle -- they realize they all wear the same moon amulet.

The four girls have to work hard to fit in with their normal peers, but that seems to be impossible with their powers. But when Catty goes missing, Vanessa must find her best friend...before she's gone forever.

Eeh, I didn't really like this book...I kinda thought it was a bit cheesy, like with the moon and all. And the writing seemed a bit ... childish compared to other books I've read.
